Buddha carved into the cliffs at Mt. Namsan.
20th November 1999 we climbed Mt. Namsan with the local guide Sang-sub Song. This is a very holy Buddhist mountain. We saw a lot of different private tombs on our way to the top. We also met a shaman who was healing an old sick woman. Forcing the steep trails we passed several statues of Buddha. Some were carved into the cliffs (like on the picture) and others were cut out of the cliff. If you continue to the top, you'll pass a small temple where a loudspeaker plays music made by some local monks. When you reach the top, you can buy chilled water from a local who has used more than 1 ½ to get to the top. As you might guess, the water is quite expensive.
